Aloo tikki

Ingredients:

  • Potato - 1 cup, mashed and boiled
  • Green Peas - 3/4 cup, boiled and mashed
  • Green Chilli - 2 no, chopped
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Mango Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cornflour - 1 tablespoon
  • Bread Crumb - 1/4 cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - for frying
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon

Directions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cumin seeds until they turn brown.
  2. Add green chillies and fry on a low fame for less than a minute.
  3. Add mango powder and remove the pan off the flame.
  4. In a bowl, add potatoes, peas, cornflour, red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, fried mixture and mix well.
  5. Shape into small flat thin circles and coat it with bread crumbs.
  6. Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
  7. Aloo Tikki can be served with tomato sauce or pudina chutney.
